Q: What is your role at the bank? What are some things that you help bank customers with?

I have been working as a mortgage lender for almost 12 years, with nearly 7 years at Lake Ridge Bank. Whether I’m working with a seasoned buyer or someone looking for their first home, I really enjoy helping people get into the house they will call home. I also work with homeowners on refinancing options to lock in at a lower interest rate or to assist with debt consolidation efforts. I work out of the Cottage Grove office, but I am more than willing to meet clients at any of our office locations throughout Southern Wisconsin.

Q: How did you get into banking as a career?

My mom was a realtor, and I have always been fascinated by the process of helping people get into a home they love. I actually started out as a financial advisor, but I quickly moved into mortgage lending early on in my career. My sister was in banking too, so I got to see what mortgage lending was all about. I appreciate that a mortgage loan serves as a tool that can help people reach their goals. I want to make it as easy as possible for the people I work with to get a mortgage that meets their needs and provides the support that enables them to create a sense of community in a home that matches their priorities.

Q: What are some of the best things about living and working in this area?

I grew up in Southern Wisconsin, and I’m thrilled to still be living in this area. I love the outdoors and anything to do with the lakes. We live on Lake Koshkonong and take full advantage of all the fishing, boating, skiing and tubing that lake life offers. I also enjoy hunting and the way it affords another opportunity to get outside.

Q: Do you have any “heroes” or people you admire and model your career/lifestyle after?

My father has been an environmental attorney in Madison and the Southern Wisconsin area for decades. He is incredibly dedicated and hardworking, but what really stands out to me is his generosity and caring attitude he exudes in everything he does. If someone needs help, he is the first one there to do whatever he can. A fun fact about my dad is that he is good friends with the guy who inspired the movie “Rudy.” I remember them talking about the possibility of the movie getting made when they were playing cards together, and my dad stepped up to represent him as his lawyer. He joked that environmental law and entertainment law both started with an “E,” so that was close enough. And then my dad did whatever he could to figure it all out. He is even listed on the back of the VHS and thanked in Rudy’s first book. That’s the kind of guy my dad is…always willing to help. I want my clients to feel that level of care and responsiveness from me too.
